Full transcript.
Forklift safety starts before the truck moves. Only trained and authorized operators should drive. Follow the pre-use inspection for your truck, checking the forks, tires, mast, leaks, and safety equipment. Report defects and keep unsafe equipment out of service. Use the steps and handholds to climb in. Fasten the seat belt, check the controls and horn, and look all around before moving.
Keep the load stable and within the truck's rated capacity. Carry it low and travel at a controlled speed. Slow down and sound the horn where visibility is limited. Stop for pedestrians and keep a clear route. Never carry riders. When parking, fully lower the forks, neutralize the controls, set the brake, and switch off. Follow your workplace's procedures every time.
