Before starting, read the procedure and identify the hazards. Check any unclear steps with your supervisor.
Locate the eyewash, safety shower, clear exit, and emergency phone before work begins.
Wear the eye protection, gloves, and fastened lab coat required for your task.
Check each container label and its safety data sheet. Never use an unlabeled substance.
Inspect glassware before use. Set damaged items aside so nobody uses them by mistake.
Keep the bench clear and use the ventilation and barriers specified by your procedure.
If something goes wrong, stop work. Warn your colleague and move to a safe position.
Keep contaminated gloves off clean surfaces. Call for trained help and explain your location.
Use emergency equipment immediately when needed. Report the incident and follow your site procedures.
